Things Are About To Change (to the tune of Battle Hymn of the Republic)

Things Are About To Change

Louisiana purchase, union favors, and the corn husker kick,
The dirty little deals were engineered to do the trick.
The slimy status quo will cut us all right to our bones,
Taking over all the clinics, taking all the student loans.

The sleazy politician will look out for his career.
Money, power, and leverage are the things that he holds dear.
To keep his place in power he will use bribery and fear.
If he ever stood for anything, it really isn't clear.

But things are about to change.

A new sun is rising, the dawning of the day.
Career politicians will be pushed out of the way.
The American people will finally have their say.

Things are about to change.

The dirty little deals were used to suck up all the votes
To jam Socialism down everybody's throats.
Career politicians love to smear it in our face,
Taxing every entity, every benefit and space.

The lame stream television has really been quite grand,
To dirty politicians, they gladly lend a hand.
They demonize the tea parties, they try to influence you.
They do their level best to suppress what they know is true.

The dirty politicians will gladly look you in the eye.
It's almost second nature to tell the bald face lie.
Washington is a sewer pipe, we need a plumber's snake,
To flush the Bolsheviks, whose motivation is to take.

Things are about to change.

A new sun is rising, the dawning of the day.
Career politicians will be pushed out of the way.
The American people will finally have their say.

Things are about to change

Faded Deck of Cards

When your days are like inches; when your years are like yards;
When your memory has faded like a short deck of cards;
When the queen of diamonds has finally checked out;
When the bountiful season has turned into drought,
Philosophies crumble and politics fail.
The nonsense merchants are having a sale.

Get your house in order, do it real soon;
It may seem like dawn, but it's really high noon.
Turn the television off, turn the radio down;
Get squared away 'cause you won't be around.
Don't try to be first. You know it won't last.
Fame and fortune's a thing of the past.
Your life is a vapor that appears for a while
And then disappears like a holograph smile.

.

Could It Be?

Can nature be a father
Instead of a mother?
Can two parallel lines
Cross each other?

Can loss be gain?
Can pleasure be pain?
Can politics get caught
In my bicycle chain?

.

Cashectomy

The doctors and the HMO are thumping your chest.
As if you didn't already know, this is just a test.
You thought it was benign. But we found that it was the worst.
Get ready for surgery. We'll do the cashectomy first.

The billing is right on time.
A co-payment would be fine.
You don't feel like being taken.
You're just another piece of bacon.
We're scaring you to death with the words that we have rehearsed.
Get ready for surgery. We'll do the cashectomy first.

We're good for you and we will be fair.
Doc Holiday, Ben Casey, and Doctor Kildare.
The media will tell you we are the ones to trust.
Cancel out on us only if you must.
You will be administered, analyzed, doctored, and then nursed.
Get ready for surgery. We'll do the cashectomy first.

.

Gerrymandering Judge

The soft part of the ear is always at the bottom.
The election deception is always in the Autumn.
The gerrymandering judge
Got his back up against the wall
After taking some bribes
From the men hanging out in the hall.

He figured he would fry
If the gravy train made him sick
And was hung out to dry
On the short end of the stick.
He tried to bounce the blame.
His power play was top-rated.
As a pillar of the nation
He was not incarcerated.

.

The Spinners

They refurbish the olds
And report it as the news.
They have a vested interest
In corrupting all our views.
Smear and hype have a wedding.
The Spin Doctors throw a big reception.
The polls are betting 2 to 1
In favor of deception.
They say, keep on believing
What you have been told to believe.
Their academic credentials
Has them ready to deceive.
They expand the false
And present it as the trues.
They have a vested interest
In corrupting all our views.

.

What?

What is the memory of dead babies
Who never saw the light of day?
Could have been men or ladies
What would they have to say?

What if all the dead babies
Formed a big parade?
They might want to see who killed them
And what excuse was made.

The head doctor would likely say:
"You know it's just a job.
The unborn is not a person.
It's really just a blob.
I just help the willing mother
With her ability to choose.
To have power over her body;
She has nothing more to lose."

The highest court in the USA
Apparently agrees.
The choice virus spreads
The ultimate disease.

.

Beaches of Miami

Look for the beach in North Miami Beach.
You'll come to see it's really out of reach.
At spring break you'll have to laugh out loud.
Look for South Beach and the elastic crowd.

Prefabricated high tech deals,
Designer cars, toys on wheels:
Distraction has found a cozy home
In the home town of Al Capone.

Relaxation and a full court press,
Begin tasting the fruits of success.
Prime rib, Shiraz, and a sample snack:
You don't know when you might be back.

A slight burn and a shoe full of sand:
A Margarita would be so grand.
In the cool penthouse you will enjoy the view.
The distractions are many; the options are few.

.

Escape From The Bureau

The spies of paranoia squeeze through the tunnel of fear.
I'm told it's quite plain, but it's really far from clear.

If I had ever existed it would be difficult to disappear.
My appearance is not there and it is not here.
Search by car, address, number, phone, code or credit.
All you will find is a request to terminate or edit.

I'll take you with me. Don't you really want to go?
On a one-way ticket, there's so much that you can know.
The evasive pattern is your scheduled flight.
Say goodbye to blindness and hello to sight.

Be more than they have ever said you can be.
Absorb the truth and let it set you free.
Your world can expand without limit of size.
How could it have ever been otherwise?

.

Bumpy Ride

The answer is not behind your back.
The train of reason is on the track.
Search the schools where the truth is barred.
The deception cartel has left its card.

Make the class; make the grade,
Dance around in an old light shade.
Brace yourself for a bumpy ride.
Failure follows after pride.

Exuberance is crushed by the school so well.
The mendacity is something you can almost smell.
"Pay the fee.
Use memory.
And then repeat it back to me."

System learners within the flocks.
Fit their thoughts inside the box.
The upper crusts are looking for more.
Until the ceiling looks like the floor.
There's nothing in their cerebral core.
They checked their brain at the door.

.

Choppy Floppy 2.0

You gotta' beam me up Scotty
'cause I'm Johnny-on-the-spotty
and I can't come back another time.
I called on Smarty Shorty
'cause he likes to party hearty
and there's no better way to find a rhyme.

Ask for money when you're broke
and the guilty frog will croak
while you're looking around for Mr. Toad.
First they turn and then they twist
as they put you on their list
and your enthusiasm takes another road.

Just initiate the starter
and we'll all be much smarter
as we take another journalistic load.
Lawyers use the circuit court
when they're ready to abort
as they travel down the politician road.

They're not looking for a rocket
when they're digging in your pocket
and they're pulling out the jolly green stuff.
In the bureaucratic mall,
first they creep and then they crawl
and they never seem to really get enough.

Things are getting kinda' choppy
as I'm backing up my floppy
and I can't seem to find another zip.
If my camel walks a mile
I can face another trial.
I really need to try to get a grip.

.

The Media Trick

The media trick was set
like a plague of locusts
for brains that don't click
and minds that won't focus.
It's a cover up,
hidden in the can,
guarded securely
by Peter, Tom, and Dan.
I connected the dots
to see what was shown.
They said, "Cool it.
It's time to move on."
I showed what was found
to those I could find.
They said, "Sit down.
We know you are blind."

.

The Anti-Social Insecurity Card

Identification is not very hard
With the anti-social insecurity card
Take it with you for credit,
Take it with you for debt.
The number becomes you.
Your future is set.
It can stop your engine.
It can put you in park.
It's a beast of a number
But it's not the beast mark.

The longer the distance,
The greater the fight.
The bureaucrat controllers
Are squeezing you tight.
Take a number 2 pencil
And sharpen it well.
You may be flunked out
Or be saved by the bell.
Stop at the door.
Show a picture ID.
"Yes, it's expired
But I am still me."

.

Moe Therapy

Got into a holding pattern,
Found the center of energy
For the cocaine mothers
And the strung-out brothers
Hanging out for their therapy.

Moe didn't much like Ada.
She raised the rent on Celeste.
The rest of the crew
And Brenda Sue
Moe didn't know that they were the best.

No more Ada;
No more Moe,
It's a figment of the memory
With no more better place to go
Than the cerebral cavity.

Do what you must
Protect the brain trust.
It's just another way of spending time.
Take it real slow
Try not to eat crow.
Don't let ideas die on the vine.

.

Moe Therapy 2.0

It's a power play
What they have to say.
They say they're cutting me lots of slack.
From my point of view
It's nothing new.
I think they're just trying to hold me back.

The decision tree
Is what I see.
I'm doing my best not to be afraid.
I'll have no fear.
But if they keep me here,
They'll have me tilting with the windmill blade.

Leave me alone.
Let me phone home.
You know I'm getting around just fine.
The shoulder chip
And the reality clip
Puts restitution back on the line.

The truth I bought
Is food for thought
Eat the apple. Throw away the core.
If they hypnotize
And they criticize
They'll see my shirt tail as I'm out the door.

.

Love that Satisfies

Keep the truth and toss the lies.
It's only love that satisfies,
Loneliness will melt away.
Can you come out and play?
The wilderness of fond goodbyes
May pave the way to binding ties.
We'll work it out, come what may.
Can you agree to stay?

There is power in doing right,
In the truth and in the light.
We have found a better sight,
More than we can know.
Make a wish and draw me in.
Let me know that I can win.
It's better than it's ever been.
Let your feelings grow.

Love so rare and love so true
Is beaconing to me and you.
Tell me I don't have a clue.
Annihilate my pain.
In my mind and in my heart
We should never be apart.
Tell me we can't have a start.
Drive me now insane.

The sun is captured in your eyes
Like tiny yellow butterflies.
The one you fail to realize
Is ready to take a vow.
In your eyes I see the sun.
The two of us can be as one.
Tell me we're not having fun.
I won't believe you now.

.

Waiting To See

How do you explain, you stole my heart away?
Can you make it plain; what do you have to say?
Is it all in vain? Is there a better way
To Be?
Love is totally free.

Opportunity can be our saving grace.
It's for you and me, a very special place,
Serendipity, reflected in your face,
To see.
Shouldn't we both agree?

Physiology: Are you prepared to stay?
Reciprocity: Is there a price to pay?
Virtuosity is standing in my way
To see
All that you can be.

Your isolation: Are you all alone?
Infatuation: I'll call you on the phone.
The situation: Where is your comfort zone
With me?
Can we just let it be?

I will pick you up if they let you down.
I'll be squared away if you hang around.
I will lose myself, if you're the lost and found.
There's no need for hesitating.
Loneliness is fading;
Everyone is waiting
To see.

.

They Bug Me

When your options evaporate like yesterday's tea;
when the tax man slaps you with one final fee,
you cannot roll over, you cannot play dead.
The bureaucrats are hungry, they have to be fed.

Agents of the bureau are planting the bug,
their knees on the floor, their hands on the rug.
They're testing the line and leaving no doubt:
Government in the sunshine has slowly checked out.

It's your tax dollars and it's working at you,
hiring the agents who don't have a clue.
Don't dig too deep, you know when to quit.
The paper pushers are having a fit.

A photo copy is always required
and a photo ID that hasn't expired.
The lights are on but there's nobody there.
All you can see is a thousand yard stare. .

.

Ginger Passed Out

Ginger passed out and bumped the potato.
Banana stepped back and squashed the tomato.
The pomegranate and the pineapple were there.
The oranges were orange, and the pears were a pair.

The lemons were yellow, the limes were green.
Mean Mr. Mustard stepped on a bean.
Pecan stayed low and was out of reach.
Cashew was hiding out with the peach.

.

The Sparrow and the Crow

What a way to go when you're in the know.
It's a secret that you cannot tell.
Monopoly views are used as news.
You know there's always something to sell.

The arrow and the bow are tight to go.
Undertakers and the bankers unite.
The sparrow and the crow see food to go.
Reap and sow for the big tax bite.

Arms and legs, elbows and knees;
double strike match and anti-freeze.
Amino acid and DNA keys,
every month sees a new disease.

.

Potter's Wheel

There's no need to hide; there's no place to go,
atmospheric ride, all systems go.
Only once been tried, do it for the show,
almost satisfied, ready now to grow.

Time to buckle in, carry on today.
Knowing you can win, fight another day.
Try to start again, you know what to say.
Potter's wheel will spin; we are only clay.

.

We'll Remember How

Wired by our old connection,
fired by your bold affection,
the future is so sure.
Your surrender leaves no doubt
the time has come to map you out.
The trip is worth the tour.

I fall back on my iron nerve.
You're much much more than I deserve.
The future's becoming now.
We will both reciprocate
in what we give and what we take.
We'll remember how.

Through the toil and through the pain
the sunshine pierces through the rain,
nothing left to fear.
Taking time for more reflection,
building now on your affection,
happiness is near.

Through our joys and through our sorrows
we'll have a boatload of tomorrows
waiting for us now.
Loyalty will be our tether.
We will always be together.
We'll remember how.

.

The Extra Mile

I guess you know that you are beautiful.
You must have known it from the start.
Oh, yes, you had to be so beautiful.
It was a tool to break my heart.

You have returned and you want to reconcile.
You know what I learned when I went the extra mile.

I learned that you are nothing.
And for that matter so am I.
I think that you were only bluffing.
But I never questioned why.

I no longer feel the pain
that occurred so long ago.
Are you ready to explain?
Is there something I should know?

You left me a clue with your disappearing smile.
You know what I do when I go the extra mile.

I cannot play second fiddle
and go rolling with the punch
or get caught in the middle
with my senses out to lunch.

And so we'll get together.
And, yes, we'll have a meal.
You'll answer all my questions
and let me know just how you feel.

Your voice soft as satin
with the words you have rehearsed
is like a glass of water
that will satisfy my thirst.
We'll have a chance to start anew and reciprocate a while.
I'll show you what you do when you go the extra mile.

Sometimes you hedge your bets
and sometimes you just let go.
You can't always do your best
when it's only just for show.

There's little time for waiting.
And you present yourself so well.
There's no need for hesitating.
Go ahead and tell your tale.

We will grab the eraser and we'll purge the history file.
We will help each other as we go the extra mile.

.

God's Law and Love

Without the law,
you cannot win.
To break the law,
that is the sin.

How long will we,
just go our way?
God says the word -- we must obey!

Why should we men,
cast down the law?
And give our selves,
to Satan's claw?

Commandments fit,
just like a glove.
Keeping the law ------ that - is love!

If you forsake,
the ways of men
And ask yourself,
just what is sin?

You break the law,
and it breaks you.
Wages of death -- are coming due!

The gift of God,
eternal life
Will help you through,
your pain and strife.

Abolished law,
is just a lie.
Satan wants you ------ not - to try!

If you be Christ's,
and keep the law
You'll understand,
what prophets saw.

Through faith we're saved,
both heart and head.
But without works -- you know it's dead.

Great peace have all,
who do obey.
Rely on Christ,
to show the way.

Understanding,
belongs to you
Because you know ------ what - to do!

The light of men,
will not grow dim.
Christ will draw,
us all to Him.

His return trip:
for some - surprise!
How could it have -- been otherwise!

Our rock is Christ;
in him we trust.
Without Him we,
are only dust.

For Righteousness,
we do rehearse
For the entire ------ un-iverse!

.

My Dream is You

I never lied;
My dream came true.
So satisfied,
My dream is you.
We had to see
Where we had been,
No need to be Alone again.

I searched for many
And didn't have a clue.
There wasn't any,
Not even just a few.
I waited for
The destination that was true.
I waited for
The perfection that was you.

Both you and I
Without regret,
Don't question why;
The pattern's set.
Beyond desire
The truth is told;
Tried in the fire;
It's purest gold.

I skipped dessert.
I went directly to the meal.
I had to flirt
With something special that was real.
I said goodbye
To all the hurt that I would feel.
I had to try
And you were standing by me still.

To turn aside
My second guess
No place to hide
From true success
They all could say
It wouldn't last
The standard play
Is fading fast.

You zeroed in
On the canyons of my mind.
And once again
I could see that I was blind.
The pattern's set
Just like the sower and the seed.
Our goal is met.
And your purpose is my need.

From where we've been
There's no excuse.
For us to win
We must let loose.
We'll carry on
Just like we said.
Your comfort zone
Is in my head.

I'll take a break,
Transcending all my schemes,
With time to take
When you appear in all my dreams.
There's nothing more,
Now you're imbedded in my heart.
Walk through the door
And you know it's just the start.
I'm the rhyme and you're the reason.
I'm the time and you're the season.
Just like before
We should never be apart.
