Is Abortion Okay?
Is abortion okay?
It depends on the circumstances. If the life of the mother is in danger, it is okay to kill the baby. It is justifiable homicide to defend the mother's life.
Is there any scripture that forbids a woman to get an abortion for the sake of convenience?
Yes.
"Thou shalt not kill" (Exodus 20:12 and Deuteronomy 5:17).
The only objection people might have to applying these two scriptures is if they think the unborn baby is a blob, a non-human. It takes a mighty stretch in logic to draw such a conclusion.
What about the case of rape or incest?
In the case of rape or incest, a potential mother needs to ask herself who she is mad at. She is probably mad at the person who raped her or committed incest with her. That being the case, why punish the unborn baby? Is she mad at the baby? There is no reason to be.
If we have to give an account for every idle word we speak (Matthew 12:36), how much more will we have to account for killing an unborn baby for the sake of convenience.
