Was Christ born in BC?
BC and AD time calculations were invented by a monk, Dionysius Exiguus in the 500's AD. There was only 2 problems with his calculation. He was off the mark on the year of Christ's birth - and - he did not allow for a year zero. 1 BC is followed by 1 AD. Therefore an adjustment of one year must be made when going from BC to AD. It was hundreds of years before it was known that his numbers were off. By the 1800's when the errors became common knowledge, it was too late. Too many countries had already adopted the time calculation. It was imbeded into the fabric of society. The latest discoveries by historians comparing parallel events in histoy to the time of Christ's birth now extimate it to be 4 BC or 5 BC, in the Fall, close to or at the time of the feast of tabernacles. Christ was not born in the Winter.
