8th Day - Hope For All Who Have Ever Lived!
Is there a second chance for salvation? Not exactly. However that is what some people call it. In reality, it is people having their first real chance. There is a second resurrection.
Christ said, "...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6) and "No man can come to me except the Father which has sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:44). He will raise him up in the last day, at the last trump, incorruptible (1 Corinthians 15:50) during the first resurrection, to be a priest, ruling with Christ (Revelation 20:5) after having overcome (Revelation 2:26). The words "...first resurrection..." are indicative of the fact that there has to be a second resurrection. "...the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished..." (Revelation 20:5).
The rest of the dead? Who are they? They are the billions who didn't have a chance to be converted, including many who never even heard the name Christ. Christ is the only name under heaven whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Billions will be raised up in physical bodies after the 1000 years to see what a wonderful world is possible under Christ's rule and will have the opportunity to accept Christ's sacrifice at that time and receive eternal life. However some will reject salvation and the battle of Gog and Magog will be fought (Revelation 20:8). For those who choose to fight on the side of Gog and Magog, the words "...you only live twice..." will certainly have been true.
The feast days show the plan of God.
The eighth day shows how billions who never had a real chance in their first life will finally be given their first real chance at salvation when they come up in the second resurrection.
Paul had to contend with other religious people that scoffed at the idea of a resurrection from the dead (Acts 23:6). Fortunately, the reality of the resurrection from the dead does not depend on the opinions of men. The resurrection from the dead is not a theory or speculation. It is a reality that will confront all who have ever lived. “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice. And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation” (John 5:28-29). There will be at least 2 resurrections. Let’s try to be in the first one (1 Thessalonians 4:16). If you are in the first resurrection, then the second death has no effect on you (Revelation 20:6). The first resurrection occurs at the last trump (1 Corinthians 15:52). The individuals raised up in the first resurrection will be given bodies that do not die (verses 53-54). Salvation is only through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth (Acts 4:10-12). Salvation does not come through anyone else. Therefore does it make sense that people who never even heard the name of the Messiah should never have a chance?
No.
The Father is is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
There is a time coming when weeping will not be heard in Jerusalem (Isaiah 65:19). That time is in the future after the 1000 years of peace.
There is a time after the 1000 years when the billions (those who didn't have a first chance for salvation) resurrected will finally be able to live a physical life and be qualified or disqualified for eventual eternal life.
From the infant to the old man, all will be given their chance.
"There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that has not filled his days: for the child shall die a hundred years old; but the sinner being a hundred years old shall be accursed" (Isaiah 65:20).
The King James "accursed" is from the Hebrew "qalal", meaning "lightly esteemed of little account". This will be the final accounting. All who have ever lived will be accountable before their Creator because all who have ever lived will have been given their chance at salvation.
Individuals raised up in the second resurrection will be given physical bodies. If they repent and overcome, they too will be given bodies that do not die.
