Are you saved by grace?
Are you saved by grace?
Yes.
"For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8).
You cannot earn salvation by trying to follow a ritual by your own effort. It is impossible for a human to keep the Ten Commandments through his own effort. Therefore the grace (including unmerited pardon) is needed from God. Grace is a key element of salvation, which is a gift from God. It is a gift that can be kept or it can be thrown away.
"...through faith..." (Ephesians 2:8). What type of faith is required for salvation? There are two kinds of faith: a dead faith and a living faith.
Faith without works is dead (James 2:26). Faith with works is a living faith.
So there are works?
Yes.
"For you are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:9).
