The Way of Cain

What is the way of Cain? It is when people decide they are going to worship God the way they want to worship God, not the way God has commanded that He be worshipped (Genesis 4).

Cain was the first person (human) to be born on the earth around 6000 years ago. Cain, you recall, became a murderer because he wanted to offer plant food to God as a sacrifice instead of what God had instructed. Today leaders of religions do the same thing. They set up rituals, routines and things to do that appear to be valid as religious activities but, in fact, have nothing to do with what God has commanded in his Word. This is the way of Cain.

For example, the popular holidays of this world are not commanded by God. These are traditions of men that men have decided they are going to participate in to worship God. God did not choose these ways to be worshipped. Man chose them. These holidays are kept alive by adult peer pressure on each other while bankers, merchants, and religious leaders are making sure advertising will keep people coming back year after year to indulge in the same false worship (worship that is false in the sense that God does not request it). Some may say, "So what? Is man's tradition so bad?" Yes, it is.

"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, an not after Christ" (Colossians 2:8).

Religious leaders today have the same problem religious leaders had during the time of Christ's earthly ministry.

"These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men" (Matthew 15:8-9).

Cain insisted that God should accept plant food as a sacrifice. He ignored God's instruction. Religious leaders today do the same.

There are some celebrations that are commanded by God. You can continue in the way of Cain. Or you can change and comply with the instructions of God. If you would like to know which holidays (Holy Days) are commanded by God, there is a booklet entitled, "God's Celebration Days."

"God's Celebration Days" is available free. Write to AFSS Corp, PMB 246, 3512 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470, United States or leave a message at 8v@8v.com and it will be sent to you by overland mail.
